Spring / Early Summer Accessories Round Up
Easter's behind us and it hit 95 here in Los Angeles today, Spring is definitely in full swing, in fact it already feels like summer! Warmer temperatures call for new accessories, sandals in which to bare freshly painted toes and larger earrings to show off exposed necklines. They don't all have to cost a fortune though, the majority of my picks for spring are under $45!
Red Zadie Sandals Who What Wear micro suede available at Target. Not a fan of red? They also come in light blue and blush! Essie Fifth Avenue toenail polish is the perfect orangey red.
Universal Thread Teala laser cut lace up sneaker espadrille at Target. Some days you don't want to wear socks and sneakers but you don't want to wear a heel either. I Iove these because the perforated holes create great ventilation and because they're lace ups they stay on your feet for running around. I also like that they're nude so very versatile. Frame Denim jeans, Illesteva Leonard sunglasses and Old Navy Hat.
Legend of Lido tote bag, perfect for carrying everything you need for the day! Washable nylon interior means you can easily keep it clean.
Universal Thread Meena Slip On Sneakers I love these sneakers! I'm always mashing down the back of my sneakers shoes so these are the perfect slip on and go. I"ve paired them with exercise pants or jeans for a more interesting than the usual Stan Smith look.
Huge trend for Spring/Summer is mismatched earrings. They're easier to wear than you might think! Janelline flower hoop earrings by Janna Conner
When you mix and match earrings, always pick complementary tones and if you have multiple piercings on one ear, put the larger earring on that ear and the simpler earring on the ear with fewer pierces. I typically wear a double pierce and 2 ear cuffs daily on one side and one earring on the other. I like the way that the one simpler side balances the busier one. That way the eye gets a little relief and it's not sensory overload.
A New Day Red Crossband Quilted Mule Sandal. I like shoes that I can wear from day to night, and with a lower 2.5" block heel I can wear these for hours! These remind me of a Gucci style that I admired for years but they had really high heels so this version is infinitely more wearable. Now I have to admit inexpensive shoes can often be uncomfortable but I've had a lot of success with Target and Zara.
Laine coral beaded hoops by Janna Conner. I"ve been really into metals for the past season so it's fun to mix in a few bright colors back into the mix. With all the dreary news that we are bombarded with on a daily basis, I find my eye gravitating towards bright happy colors. I especially love the rainbow beaded version, it reminds me of African trade beads and visiting outdoor flea market stalls at the Porte de Clignancourt in Paris.
Sometimes you don't feel like wearing big earrings though. For those days, my Cathal circle necklaces is a minimal touch. There's also a matching earring and it's available in yellow gold or rose gold plate.
These look much more expensive than they are, they remind me of woven French bistro chairs. I love that they're black with tan accents on the white so they really go with everything. And if you're not into patterns, they're also available in solid black and caramel brown. Woven mules by Universal Thread
As much as I love color, I love metallics. I typically gravitate towards gold but decided to go mix it up with these silver Junebug mule slippers by A New Day. They remind me of a much more expensive Jenni Kayne version I own, reminiscent of a Moroccan Berber slipper. However, these are so much more comfortable. They have a bit of elastic flex on the side so they expand and contract with the foot.
I purchased all these items myself, and all opinions stated are mine!
